Ni no Kuni II Will Take 40 Hours to Complete Main Story

Level-5 shares the technical details of the long-awaited sequel, Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. It's apparently filled with 40 hours worth of content.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is currently being worked on by legendary JRPG developer Level-5. We’ve been teased with some trailers as well as a video showing off a few new features including an RTS battle system. More recently, however, news on the game’s specs and gameplay time have been revealed.

WCCFTech had a chance to ask a few questions of President and CEO of Level-5, Akihiro Hino, and learned a few new bits of information ahead of the game’s release.

In Ni No Kuni II, players can participate in building and managing a kingdom. When asked how this mode will play out, Hino stated that players can recruit characters into the team to help expand the kingdom. “By scouting many members and building up the kingdom, players can achieve strong accessories and magic. As players enhance their kingdom, the journey becomes more convenient and beneficial.” He also explains that while the game moves away from battling with Higgledies, like in the first Ni No Kuni, they can be interacted with in kingdom mode.

The topic of how long it would take to complete the game was also mentioned. “There will be features such as side quests or kingdom mode; however, if you include playing all features, it will take over 40 hours.”

Ni No Kuni II will take advantage of the PlayStation 4 Pro. Hino shared that the game can be played in dynamic 4K at 60fps on the upgraded console. It will also feature support for high dynamic range displays. It’s assumed that this will be available on the PC version as well.

Lastly, Hino was asked if a remaster of the original Ni No Kuni would be brought to PS4. He stated that it was so far undecided, but earlier commented that the two games are unrelated and one can be played without knowledge of the other, although shared elements can be found between the two.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will be released on March 23 for PS4 and PC.
