Niantic is no longer taking Pokemon GO applications for new Pokestops or Gyms

That was fast. Just nine days ago, Pokemon GO developer, Niantic had announced that they were taking user requests for new gyms and Pokestops. That no longer appears to be the case. However, you can now request to have a gym or Pokestop removed, which will be a welcome site to those who have been frustrated by the game's effect on privacy.

The request page has been reduced and rendered inactive, although you can still see the page here. It's possible that it may re-open sometime in the future, but for now, you'll just have to stick with the Pokestops on offer.

Pokemon GO has proven to be a pretty divisive presence in not just gaming community, but the entire world. While it has become the most used app on the market, many people (including Red Power Rangers NOT named Jason) have taken stances against it. To be fair, it's nothing the game has done wrong but merely Pokemon GO players who have been taking things too far (such as camping out in front of an apartment building and playing loud music till 3 AM).

Seriously guys, if you're going to play Pokemon GO, do it the right way, watch where you're going, and don't be a selfish ass about it.
