Earlier today, we learned that the role of Black Manta for Aquaman had been filled by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Shortly after, we heard some rather surprising news that Nicole Kidman was in talks to star as Aquaman's mother, Atlanna.
The Hollywood Reporter noted today that director James Wan has been courting Kidman for a while, and finally made an official offer yesterday. Atlanna conceived Aquaman after falling in love with a human lighthouse keeper something along the lines of The Little Mermaid.
In addition to Kidman, Aquaman will star Patrick Wilson as Orm, Amber Heard as Hera and Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko. Aquaman his theaters in July 2018.
