Nier: Automata gets February 2017 release date

Seriously, isn't February stacked enough? Nioh, Persona 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Yoshi's Woolly World 3DS, and now Nier: Automata. It's unclear whether the February 23, 2017 release date from the official Japanese twitter will be for Japan only or worldwide, but it does line up with the projected Steam release date.

From a recent interview, it seems Nier: Automata is shaping up to be something special. It features a unique engine designed by Platinum Games to emphasize the series' use of lighting and the developer's own brand of stylish, high speed action, a large open world setting on a ruined, futuristic Earth, and the myriad weapons at players' disposal (Over 40!).

Check out the latest trailer below, but keep in mind it shows none of the action you can expect to see in the game itself:
