Nier Automata is one of the craziest, out of nowhere surprises in a long time. Nobody expected a sequel to NieR, and if some crazy out there was expecting it, they certainly weren't expecting Platinum Games to be the team bringing it to life, or that it would be a (lite) character action title. Yet that's exactly what's happening, and we'll be able to get our hands on it in February.
For some the hype is real. Character Action Games are incredibly rare, and Platinum Games is the best in the world when it comes to the genre. While the wait is almost too much for fans to bear, at least we're getting a steady trickle of information and screenshots to hold us over. Here's a few showing off the scale of the open world and some combat:
