A new Nintendo 2DS bundle has been announced that gives gamers the option to also get Pokémon X or Pokémon Y at a discount. Both Toys 'R' Us and Target are selling the bundle, but each retailer offers a different game with the 2DS.
Target's bundle includes Pokémon X pre-installed on a red Nintendo 2DS, while the Toys 'R' Us bundle includes Pokémon Y pre-loaded on an SD card in a blue Nintendo 2DS. Both bundles will sell for $149.99.
For those unfamiliar, the 2DS simply offers a more affordable way for gamers to get into handheld gaming. It plays all of the same games as the Nintendo 3DS and has much of the system's functionality (touch-screen controls, StreetPass, online multiplayer, etc.) but only plays games in 2D and doesn't have a clamshell shape.
The 2DS was discounted as low as $99 during Black Friday, but it normally retails for $129.99.
