Nintendo 3DS gets small stability update

Nintendo has released an update for the 3DS today, bringing it to version 8.1.0-18U.

Confusing numbers and letters aside, the update offers "further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments" made to enhance the user experience. You know, behind-the-scenes type stuff that you probably won't notice until you go to the eShop and realize you can't access it due to an impending update.

Perhaps in more exciting 3DS news, Nintendo is hosting today the Super Smash Bros. tournament at San Diego Comic-Con today. It's being played on the 3DS version of the game and is being streamed here.
