Nintendo announces amiibo and Skylanders partnership

Nintendo has announced a new partnership with Activision that will see its collectible amiibo figures work in the upcoming Skylanders SuperChargers.

The newest installment of the Skylanders series will introduce vehicles into the game for the first time, and with the new partnership, both Donkey Kong and Bowser amiibo will join in with their respective vehicles. Turbo Charge Donkey Kong comes with a Barrel Blaster car, while Hammer Slam Bowser drives the Clown Cruiser. These characters will have their own unique moves and upgrade trees.

What's really neat is that the figures will work in both Skylanders SuperChargers as well as Nintendo games. By rotating the base of the amiibo, you can have it work in Skylanders or any Nintendo game that supports the Donkey Kong and Bowser amiibo.

More dual function Amiibo will be announced at a later date but you can get a first look at DK and Bowser below.
