Nintendo just released their newest console last month and it's proving to be a big success but that hasn't stopped them from innovating on their older hardware. Their classic Nintendo handheld, the Nintendo DS, has been around for a while and has seen numerous innovations with the DSi, 2DS, 3DS, etc..
Despite the release of the Switch in March, Nintendo will be releasing a new version of the 2DS this summer with the New 2DS XL. The handheld comes with a redesigned look which allows it to fold (unlike the OG 2DS) and it has Amiibo support.
Additionally, any 3DS game including 3DS XL games can be played on the 2DS XL, without the 3D features of course. You can view all the other additional features and inclusions in the trailer below.
The New Nintendo 2DS XL launches on July 28th, 2017 and will retail at $149.99 in the United States.
