Nintendo Direct: Pikmin heading Nintendo 3DS in 2017

Nintendo revealed quite a bit during their Nintendo Direct today, but they ended on a pretty great note: Pikmin is making a comeback! The game does not have a final name yet and is being referred to as Pikmin for Nintendo 3DS, but the guys at Nintendo definitely know what direction they are bringing the game.

The 3DS' Pikmin will be a side-scrolling adventure game, where Pikmin follow Olimar around and players tap the touch screen where they want Olimar to toss the little guys. The Pikmin will get to work immediately, moving objects, battling creatures, or carrying treasure while heading for the goal.

As per usual, Red Pikmin are fire resistant, Yellow Pikmin can be thrown to higher ground and avoid electrocution, and Blue Pikmin are good with water

Pikmin for 3DS is due to release in 2017.
