Nintendo discontinuing Aqua Blue 3DS

Nintendo plans to cease production on the Aqua Blue 3DS model, at least in Japan.

Aqua Blue was one of the original launch colors, along with Cosmo Black — a color that seems to be safe for now.

The company recently announced a Midnight Purple variation of the 3DS, which will be on sale starting May 20. Other available colors include Pearl Pink and Flame Red.

No word yet on whether Nintendo will discontinue the Aqua Blue version in North America, as well.
