Wii U owners will soon be able to enjoy the vast collection of Nintendo DS titles. In the company's press briefing this morning, Nintendo revealed that is solved the "technical problem" of displaying Virtual Console software from Nintendo DS on the GamePad.
"The dual-screen Nintendo DS, one of which is a touch screen, has a very strong software lineup, and so we plan to add the Virtual Console titles from Nintendo DS software to the future Virtual Console lineup for Wii U," Nintendo said.
Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata didn't reveal which DS games would be playable, although he highlighted how good the popular DS game Brain Age would look on the Gamepad's screen.
A good portion of today's Nintendo briefing emphasized on the company's renewed focus in highlighting the unique strengths of the Wii U Gamepad. In addition to DS games coming to the Virtual Console, a future system update will halve the time it takes to start a game thanks to a Quick Start Menu being added to the Gamepad.
