Nintendo encounters problems with release of full game downloads

Nintendo hit a wall on the first day it allowed full game downloads on its eShop — a time that conflicted with the simultaneous retail and digital release of New Super Mario Bros. 2 for 3DS.

The launch in Japan caused a host of online issues because of high traffic to the service. Although Nintendo has fixed the problem, but it might be better to opt for the retail version once the game hits North America on August 19, in case the situation repeats itself.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 debuts in North America alongside the 3DS XL.
