Nintendo has been quietly adding older titles of theirs to the eShop without much of a parade for years. Lack of marketing aside, those who use the eShop should be glad to hear that Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon is now available on the Virtual Console for Wii U.
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon is the Nintendo DS remake of the original, Japanese exclusive Fire Emblem. For the Super Smash Bros. fans, this is the game Marth comes from and tells the story that made him and the series so wildly popular in Japan.
Beyond that, they've also released Metroid: Other M on the eShop. The black sheep of the series, Metroid: Other M was actually fun and an interesting twist on the Metroid mechanics. What wasn't well received was the presentation of the protagonist Samus. Someone may have been asleep at the story wheel, but Team Ninja of Ninja Gaiden fame worked on the mechanics, and that's what really makes the game worth playing.
Lastly, two titles were added the the eShop for Nintendo 3DS. These titles being Animal Crossing: New Leaf (with amiibo functionality) and Demon's Crest. They can both be found on the eShop on a 3DS.
