Nintendo is making a real-life Legend of Zelda dungeon for you to escape

Yay! I can trap myself in a room with strangers.

If you have ever wanted to get stuck in a real dungeon themed after The Legend of Zelda series you're in luck! You can choose to trap yourself in a small room with around five other people and solve puzzles.

Escape Rooms are relatively new, but a pretty simple concept. Essentially, players are trapped in a room with a set of clues and puzzles in it. The puzzles need to be solved within the set amount of time in order for the players to win. If you lose, you aren't trapped in the room forever with the other people. You're just released with the knowledge that you could solve the puzzle.

Nintendo is teaming up with SCRAP to produce a room based on the Zelda series that will have players face off against Ganon and get back the Triforce.

The Zelda-themed escape room will take six players and put them in a room with Zelda props, but it won't be limited to that room. Players will then have to navigate through new areas while solving clues.

Here are the locations that will be able to get in on the escape room starting in 2017:

  • San Francisco (January 31 – February 5)
  • Los Angeles (February 10 – February 12)
  • San Diego (February 24 – February 25)
  • Seattle (TBA)
  • Phoenix (TBA)
  • Houston (TBA)
  • Chicago (TBA)
  • New York (TBA)
