Nintendo may be uniting 3DS and Wii U eShops

According to a customer service representative, Nintendo could be unifying its 3DS and upcoming Wii U eShops.

"A unified account system will be implemented later this year with the launch of the Wii U," wrote rep David Marshall in an email to a customer. "Eventually this same account system will be made compatible with Nintendo 3DS systems. At this time we have no additional details to offer and nothing to indicate how or if this will work outside the United States and Canada."

He added that the digital version of New Super Mario Bros. 2 would be limited to the United States and Canada in North America.

"We have nothing to announce regarding Latin American availability," he wrote.
