A new report seems to indicate that Nintendo will ship 10-12 million NX consoles before the end of 2016. According to a report by Digitimes, the console is scheduled for mass production at the end of Q1 2016, which would indicate an April start.
According to the report, in addition to FoxConn Electronics which will be the primary component supplier for the console, Macronix, Pixart Imaging, Coxon Precise Industrial, Nishoku Technology, Delta Technology, Lingsen Precision Industries and Jentech will also supply components for the device. We don't know much about the console at all yet, including the real name as NX has only been dubbed the codename so far.
Nintendo has stated we will learn more about NX come early 2016, which falls in line with these announcements from the component suppliers. Nintendo just recently hit the 10 million unit mark for the Wii U in lifetime sales nearly 3 years into existence, so if it can hit 10 million shipped in one year it will be landmark for the company as it sets to make the NX as competitive if not more powerful than both the Xbox One and PS4.
