If you were expecting the Nintendo NX to have its worldwide reveal at E3 2016 you would have came away from their press conference rather disappointed, because the company decided it wasn't the right time to do so.
This was revealed during yesterday's shareholder's meeting as Shigeru Miyamoto explained the decision.
According to the translations that have come to light on social media, he said: "Normally we would've shown the NX at E3, but we didn't. We're worried about imitators if we release info too early."
It would seem then, based on Miyamoto's statements, that Nintendo are very wary about insiders being able to copy their new console, which might well suggest that something big is on the cards.
There have already been a number of different leaks in recent months, especially regarding the technology used for the Nintendo NX's controller, therefore this could be a sign that the company will keep their cards much nearer their chest ahead of the console's release.
"Long play sessions are an issue," he added. "We want to release something that can be played for long periods, carries value, and is affordable. We want parents to feel at ease."
