As most Wii U and 3DS owners are aware, Nintendo's online services have been experiencing technical difficulties. Over Christmas, many of the systems' online services, like the eShop, were resulting in various error codes.
Nintendo has acknowledged the issue writing on Twitter, "We are aware that some of you are encounter issues with eShop and creating NNIDs (Nintendo Network IDs). Our team is working hard to resolve them."
"And we are truly sorry for any inconvenience," the company added.
According to the official status update page, "some parts" of Nintendo's online services are still experiencing technical difficulties. One particular issue on the 3DS, 2DS, and Wii U systems is an "Internal Server Error" when attempting to create a Nintendo Network ID. Nintendo has briefly explained the issue, while offering a potential solution while they continue to address these disruptions.
"Due to an error during the account creation process, the Nintendo Network ID that was entered may not be useable. If you continue to receive this error and are unable to complete creating an account with a specific Nintendo Network ID, we ask that you try again with a different ID."
We'll continue to update you with the status of Nintendo's online services throughout the day.
