Scalpers already took a hit when it comes to the SNES Classic when eBay decided to delete early listings from scammers, but it looks like the Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, is giving them a kick. The SNES Classic has been sold out every time pre-orders go up, but it looks like the console won't be hard to find when it makes its eventual release.
According to Reggie Fils-Aime in an interview with Financial Times (via GameSpot), Nintendo "dramatically increased" production for SNES Classic stock. Production has been so increased that he advised people not to give in to scammers and pay more than the $80 retail price.
"I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on a SNES Classic on any of the auction sites . . . You shouldn't [have to] pay more than $79.99," Fils-Aime said.
There you have it, there's hope for you to get a SNES Classic without having to give into an eBay scammer.
