Nintendo Switch has had a large success since its launch. So much so that retailers can't keep the console in stock. But hackers have been finding exploits in the Switch's software and Nintendo is trying to nip it in the bud with up to $20k in rewards to those who track them down and tell them.
This program, called the HackerOne-Powered Bounty, started last year for vulnerabilities on the 3DS handheld systems. Perfectly Nintendo recently learned that the bounty program has been applied to the Switch as well.
Nintendo is specifically interested in tracking down vulnerabilities in both the system software and in the Nintendo-published Switch applications. They're also after any vulnerabilities in piracy, cheating, and cloning.
The bounty goes to the first reporter of an exploit, who is eligible for a cash out of $100 to $20,000, and there is a specific template to follow when reporting the exploit.
Since the initial campaign for the 3DS line last year, three individuals have received bounties for 3DS exploits. The vulnerabilities, of course, remain undisclosed.
