Nintendo reveals they are ‘looking’ into VR

No mention of the NX!

During Nintendo's financial report, where Nintendo's investors and analysts come together to review the quarter and reveal their future plans, it was announced that the Wii U saw a steady amount of growth in sales between April and December 2015.

While this was nice to hear, Nintendo failed to comment on the one thing that everyone wanted to hear about — the Nintendo NX. Unfortunately, no details on Nintendo's upcoming console were spared.

However, Nintendo did mention something else — they "are looking" (via DualShockers) into VR. Again, no further details were relieved.

Nintendo could be going in one of two directions when it comes to VR, they could be creating their own headset or be developing VR friendly games. In  1995 Nintendo has attempted their own VR endeavor with the Virtual Boy — a portable VR console that was deemed a failure by most, regardless of how promising it was.

It's more likely that Nintendo will be developing a VR friendly game that fits into their mobile development plans. A game that can be used with something like the Samsung Gear VR, a headset that uses mobile phones as a screen and creates a VR environment out of the phone's display.

We will have to wait until E3 to see where Nintendo will go with their VR and NX plans.
