Nintendo says there are now 100 games from 70 publishers in development for the Nintendo Switch

Although the Nintendo Switch looks really cool, some people are skeptical that the handheld/console hybrid will suffer from Wii U syndrome and won't have many substantial games or just have big gaps of time where nothing releases. Nintendo wants to assure fans that this is not the case.

During an earnings call today, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima revealed that 20 more games have started development on the Nintendo Switch since the Switch event in early January. That brings the total count to 100 games coming to the Switch! Kimishima also added that 20 publishers enjoyed the mix bringing the total to 70 publishers.

Kimishima also addressed the topic of regular software releases head on.

"[Releasing new games regularly] encourages consumers to continue actively playing the system, maintains buzz, and spurs continued sales momentum for Nintendo Switch," Kimishima said.

Also revealed by Nintendo today is how Splatoon 2's multiplayer will work (yes, you'll need a smartphone app), online pricing, and even potential VR support for the Switch.

We currently have about 50 specific games confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, what other games/IPs would you like to see on the Switch? Let us know in the comments below!
