Nintendo showcases impressive holiday lineup for Nintendo 3DS

Owners of a Nintendo 3DS are in for quite a treat this holiday season. In the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo of America showcased its holiday lineup for the Nintendo 3DS and provided a sneak peek of content coming in 2013.

Leading the robust lineup are Nintendo-published games including Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (October 28 release) and Paper Mario: Sticker Star (November 11). These tites join the already-released Crosswords Plus, Style Savvy: Trendsetters and Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone! Additionally, two new downloadable content packs for New Super Mario Bros. 2 are available from the in-game shop.

It doesn't end there, either. There's a host of third-party titles headed to the Nintendo 3DS this holiday season as well, including Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion (November 18), a promising-looking platformer from the creative mind of Warren Spector. Also heading to the 3DS in time for the holidays is Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!! (November 20) from D3Publishers and Scribblenauts Unlimited (November 13) from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

Additionally, there's a massive lineup of games that are heading only tot he Nintendo eShop. Titles include building-block puzzle game Crashmo (Nov. 22) and the 360-degree water-morphing action-puzzle game Fluidity: Spin Cycle (Dec. 27). Looking further down the road 3DS owners will get Ikachan (later in 2012) from Nicalis, and a few games from Level 5 including Aero Porter and Crimson Shroud coming later this year.

Overall, it looks to be quite a packed holiday season for 3DS owners. And to think, in just its 20th month of availability, the 3DS has a combined library of more than 650 traditional packaged and digital games. And the library list of games will continue to grow. In 2013, 3DS owners can look forward to even more hit titles including Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Fire Emblem Awakening and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.

Check out the full Nintendo Direct presentation below and let us know which games you plan on getting.
