Nintendo stealth-drops Kirby Fighters 2 for the Switch

A surprise new Nintendo first-party fighter is available today for Nintendo Switch users. Kirby Fighters 2 is bringing a feature-packed action-brawler to-go at a nice budget price. Watch the launch trailer here!

What an unexpected surprise for Nintendo fans. The iconic Japanese game company has decided to continue the cutesy fighting game featuring the fluffy pink ball of joy on their current hardware.

Kirby Fighters Deluxe came out a whopping six years ago on the Nintendo 3DS and featured awesome action-packed brawling not unlike the Super Smash Bros. franchise. But unlike that one, Kirby Fighters is all about Kirby. With Kirby Fighters 2 the game is getting tons of content that could make this one a mainstay among the fighting game community.

Choose from a cast of Kirby’s most iconic copy abilities—including the brand-new Wrestler ability—and duke it out to be the last Kirby standing. Familiar friends and foes like Bandana Waddle Dee and King Dedede also make an appearance as playable characters in the Kirby Fighters 2 game, available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch™ system.

Four-player local multiplayer on one Switch, Four-player local multiplayer on separate devices, and online multiplayer are bringing the goods for any type of gamer. The swath of content doesn’t end here. With a formidable roster of 22 fighters from the Kirby series, there’s plenty of variety for players to experiment and fight their preferred Kirby.

Befitting of Kirby’s power, Copy Abilities are the standout mechanic that will make or break a match. Choose between 17 Copy Abilities that range from hard-hitting Hammer to ranged Arrows and many more.

With a Story Mode, arcade-like Single-Handed Mode, Online Mode, Local Mode, and Battle Mode Kirby Fighters 2 is offering the full breath of content any fighting game fan could hope for.

Kirby Fighters 2 is available right on the Nintendo Shop for just $19.99.
