Nintendo Switch: Don’t “assume what you saw on the video represents actual game footage,” says Nintendo

Last week Nintendo revealed their next console, the Nintendo Switch. The console, that had been referred to as the NX up until the announcement, is making a March 2017 and will see more details release in the future.

The reveal trailer for the Switch showed off how the console will work, but not exactly how games will look. According to an interview with an actor from the reveal trailer, Twitch streamer Dickhiskhan, in an interview with GameExplain, all the gameplay footage featured in the reveal trailer was added in post-production.

Basically, the reveal trailer didn't show off how games will actually look, just play. Nintendo issued a statement on the reveal trailer which gives more detail on what is seen in the trailer:

"This video is all about explaining how the Nintendo Switch works," a UK spokesperson said to Eurogamer. "We wanted to convey in a self-contained video how Nintendo Switch represents a new era for video game systems enjoyed in front of a TV, by letting gamers play anywhere, anytime, with anyone they choose. It adds the mobility of a portable system to the power of a home gaming system.

"At a later date, before the March launch, we'll be talking about things like exact launch date, and of course, the games. You shouldn't assume what you saw on the video represents actual game footage and further specifics on first-party games will be provided later."

We will have to wait and see what the Switch is really offering.
