Nintendo Switch Has Nearly Met Their First-Month Sales Expectations in 11 Days

The Nintendo Switch was obviously a highly anticipated launch. But the sales numbers so far blow that modest expectation out of the water. 1.5 million units have been sold worldwide in the first week since release. Nintendo's goal was 2 million in the first month.

A report from SuperData (via GamesIndustry) details the breakdown. 500,000 consoles were sold in the US while 360,000 were sold in Japan. So far, the only details we have from Europe are France with 110,000 and the UK with 85,000.

If Nintendo is looking to sell 2 million in the first month, and we're already at 1.5 million within 11 days, that's a pretty phenomenal start. The issue facing Nintendo currently is the limited stock of Switch consoles. It's already the fastest selling Nintendo console in America, even beating out the Wii.

If Nintendo can keep shelves stocked, there's no reason their expectation for March won't be met. Check out our review of the Nintendo Switch here.
