Nintendo Switch Production Bid Doubles to Meet Demand

Are you waiting for the Nintendo Switch to restock? So are possibly millions of others. Luckily, Nintendo knows this and is doubling the number of units produced.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo originally planned to manufacture only 8 million consoles before the end of March 2018. Now that number is around 16 million, if not more.

While official Nintendo Switch sales numbers haven't been released yet, Nintendo has stated that its new console is the fastest-selling Nintendo console ever in America, Europe, and Australia. It even almost met its first-month expectations in two weeks.

Nintendo's new expectations see the console selling at 10 million by next year. Nintendo hopes to meet the demand for the console throughout 2017 with this increased production with the eventual release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Arms, and Splatoon 2 on the horizon.
