Nintendo Switch screen resolution and size detailed

720p!

Nintendo revealed their new console/handheld duo the Nintendo Switch, previously referred to as the NX, last week and it looks like new details on the handheld portion are rolling in.

While Nintendo said they wouldn't be releasing many details on the platform this year, an independent source has 'confirmed' new information on the handheld's screen specifications.

According to a report from Eurogamer, the Switch's screen is 6.2" and carries a 720p resolution. The screen is a capacitive multi-touch screen, which means that people wearing gloves will have a hard time using the screen – unless they are using a stylus or special glove. However, the screen will be able to support multi-finger gestures, like most touchscreen devices.

Previous reports have detailed that the Switch will not be compatible with physical Wii U or 3DS games and that the game footage we saw in the reveal trailer was not actual gameplay, just superimposed video.
