So the Nintendo Switch launched and, like everything Nintendo puts out, exceeded sales expectations. Nintendo has already combated this by literally doubling production on the Switch. After that news, we soon learned that GameStop will soon be restocking their shelves with Nintendo Switch soon.
According to GameSpot, GameStop will be available for sale "as early as Wednesday, March 22," so those looking to pick up a Switch after initial release can possibly do so then. GameStop has already advised customers to "Check their stores first for availability" and have suggested that only individual units will be available, as opposed to bundles, which may not be offered.
According to the senior director of merchandising at GameStop, "GameStop continues to see strong demand from customers who are looking to purchase the Nintendo Switch system […] We are meeting this demand by securing additional systems as fast as we can to ensure customers are able to purchase this innovative gaming technology."
"The customer enthusiasm and response we have seen so far has been incredible as we continue to sell through our supply of systems. We strongly suggest any customer who is still looking to purchase a Nintendo Switch, visit one of our stores as soon as they can. This new allotment will go fast."
Nintendo Switch had met the halfway mark of its first-month sales expectations in a mere 11 days. This restock will most likely be a quick one, and the Switch will likely be hard to get again until the next shipment.
