Nintendo Switch Will Not Have an Internet Browser At Launch

The Nintendo Switch launches in a month and Nintendo fans are antsy. It's to be a revolution of on-the-go gaming, but from a Time interview, we learn that the Nintendo Switch will launch without a web browser.

Nintendo EPD Director Shinya Takahashi told Time, "In terms of the Internet browser, since all of our efforts have gone toward making Switch an amazing dedicated video game platform, it will not support it, at least at launch."

But does this really damage the Switch at all? First of all, he clearly adds "At least at launch" in the announcement. A web browser is a fairly basic addition to a console. Also, while a browser might work better on a console that comes with a touchscreen keyboard, console browsers have always been inferior to anything a smartphone or computer could do. It's disappointing perhaps, but detrimental? Let us know what you think.
