Nintendo trademark resurrects classic N64 title

Nintendo Switch Virtual Console or N64 Classic?

Nintendo has filed a trademark for an N64 game from 1998 that saw a Virtual Console release on the Wii in 2008 and a sequel in 2003 on the GameCube. It’s unclear if Nintendo is simply renewing the ‘1080° Ten Eighty’ trademark or preparing for an upcoming announcement.

If Nintendo isn’t simply renewing the trademark, this filing could be a telltale sign of the Nintendo Switch’s Virtual Console getting some games lined up or hints at what could be on the rumored N64 Classic.

Back in Fall 2017, it was rumored that the list of games for the unannounced Nintendo 64 Classic released and to no surprise, ‘1080° Ten Eighty’ was featured on that list. It’s also possible that ‘1080° Ten Eighty’ will be a Virtual Console game for the Nintendo Switch, but that feature has yet to be detailed.

Hopefully, Nintendo of Russia is correct when they say a Nintendo Direct announcement is coming and that all of the rumors are true.
