A slimmer Nintendo 3DS may be in the works and could make its way to the public as early as Spring 2012. Following the similar path of the Nintendo DS and DS Lite, it is rumored that Nintendo is working on a follow-up version of the Nintendo 3DS.
Japanese publication Nikkei Trendy has shown off an image of a 3DS with the caption "3DS Lite". A rough translation of the site leads us to believe that Nintendo is slimming down the 3DS and increasing the battery life – two important factors that have received complaints in the past.
Another rough translation could indicate that the 3DS Lite could be revealed in the Spring.
While none of this is confirmed, Nikkei Trendy has been known to be correct on a few past rumors. As always, take this rumor for what it is. Right now it is all speculation and should be treated as such.
