About a week after addressing headache complaints from 3DS consumers, Nintendo UK Head of Communications Robert Saunders left the company. News about Saunders’ leave came yesterday in a message from Nintendo UK Marketing Director Dawn Paine. No word on why Saudners will be leaving, but he has already received a number of well wishes from coworkers and friends.
“We would like to thank Rob for all his hard work and contribution to Nintendo UK,” said Paine. “I have personally enjoyed working with Rob immensely and am I proud to have had him in my team. We all wish him the very best of luck for the future which will undoubtedly be stellar.”
Saunders joined Nintendo in 2004 and was on board during many impactful console launches. He recently worked in the public relations and communications departments, overseeing several promotional events and handling consumer complaints. Saunders is also a member of the BAFTA Video Games Committee.
Reasons for Saunders’ leave may or may not surface in the future. If scandal was involved, you can bet we’ll hear some news on it. However, if it is simply a leave by Saunders to pursue other goals, the topic is likely to die here. In any case, we would like to wish the very best to Robert Saunders in all his future projects.
