It's finally happening. After starting off as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, the Souls-like Samurai Action-RPG, Nioh is coming to PC as a single Complete Edition Koei Tecmo announced today. The game will release only on Steam and will be available later this year on November 7th.
As you might surmise, Nioh: Complete Edition comes with the base game and its three DLC expansions, Dragon of the North, Defiant Honor, and the recently released Bloodshed's End.
The announcement, made in a Press Release included a quote from Game Director Fumihiko Yasuda who acknowledged the fan desire to see a PC release:
"Team NINJA is well aware of the fact that many gamers have been passionately asking for a PC version of “Nioh”. I am thrilled to announce that this masocore game will finally be available for our die-hard PC fans in Nioh: Complete Edition! I hope you all enjoy the unforgettable drama and deeply challenging Yokai battles this action-packed experience has to offer."
The PC version will have two visual modes, similar to how the game works on the PS4 Pro. Action mode will stabilize the game, finding the optimal way to keep it at a smooth 60 FPS while Movie Mode will aim to emphasize resolution, which will be able to go all the way up to 4K.
Steam players will also get an exclusive bonus helmet called the Dharmachakra Kabuto. It's not nearly as serious as it sounds, as according to the press release, the helmet "features a red-lacquered front crest of an ancient Buddhist symbol depicting the eight-fold path to nirvana" but that the crest "looks as though it belongs on a device to regulate steam."
Hmmm.
I'll leave you with a screenshot of the helmet.
