When people first discovered the site NoHopeLeft.com, the obvious viral ad campaign immediately had people thinking Resident Evil. Not only is the biohazard symbol featured prominently in the graffitti pictures found on the site (Resident Evil's Japanese title is Biohazard), but quick digging found that the owners of the URL were the same advertising firm who'd handled similar PR stunts for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.
Today the biggest piece of proof came from UK Publication The Sixth Axis, who not only located some of the graffitti shown on the site, but found that it wasn't graffitti at all! Just a very nice poster hung on some licensed billboard space. A quick inquiry email to the owners of the billboard got them this response:
"Panel number is 2375 03 Parry Street. The company advertising on it is CAPCOM."
I'm not sure how I feel about people actively ruining the fun of a viral campaign by checking up on domain registrars and billboard liscense records, though I guess I'm too distracted to care given the very strong possibility that Resident Evil 6 is on it's way. Unless of course Capcom is banking on the Dead Rising series to make a resurgance, but given the less than stellar reception for Dead Rising 2 (and Off the Record), we're thinking they're more likely focusing on their flagship zombie shooter.
Resident Evil 6 hm? Well, it's not a new Mega Man, but it's close.
