It looks like 2K Games won't be sending out review copies for Mafia 3 in advance to game news outlets, so if you see any reviews prior to October 7th, it might be fake.
Typically, 2K Games releases their games in advance to online news outlets, but it's not happening this time around. According to a report from Polygon, a 2K representative confirmed that the game will not be sent out, though, it was not detailed why.
Both Destiny and DOOM decided to skip out on sending review copies and despite how well those games performed, the announcement has alarmed some Mafia fans. The fear is that 2K expects bad reviews for Mafia 3 and are keeping review copies off the street so that no one cancels their pre-order or decides not to purchase it.
Whether or not these are unfounded fears will be known on October 7th.
