No Man's Sky officially released yesterday on the PlayStation 4 and in the very same day, two players did the impossible: found each other in space. The two players shared their exact coordinates and went to the very same spot on the very same planet – they even went to the same space station. However, they never actually saw each other.
In the past, when the founder and creator of No Man's Sky, Sean Murray, detailed the game, he said it was "not a multiplayer game" and that "the chances of two players ever crossing paths in a universe this large is pretty much zero."
He never explicitly stated that two players could not meet, simply that there was a low chance. Now that these two players attempted to meet, stood in the same spot and did not meet, players want answers. Can we run into each other in space?
After the event drew enough attention, Murray commented on the two players' attempt… yet somehow managed to ignore the biggest question that players had:

Murray commented on the occasion without answering why the two could not see each other, he simply pointed in another direction.
