No Man’s Sky officially delayed to August

Earlier this week, reports of one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, No Man's Sky, was rumored to be delayed but  it is now official. No Man's Sky new release date is on August 9 for North America, August 10 in Europe, and August 12 in the UK.
Lead Director of the game, Sean Murray, took to  the PlayStation Blog to clear up the confusion. As the game was set to release next month, Murray and Hello Games decided to give some extra development time to polish off the rough edges.
"As we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special."
"We understand that this news is disappointing. Making this game is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but we are so close now, and we’re prepared to make the tough choices to get it right."
No Man's Sky is one of the most ambitious games, promising deep RPG elements for its players, multiple alien languages, and a vast universe to explore like no other.
"The universe of No Man’s Sky is incredibly vast. More than you can imagine. This is a type of game that hasn’t been attempted before, by a smaller team than anyone would expect, under an intense amount of expectation."
No Man's Sky is now set to release August 9 for North America, August 10 in Europe, and August 12 in the UK.
