With No Man's Sky officially released on the PlayStation 4 and working its way to release on the PC this Friday, there are a couple questions that the community has. Will there be paid DLC? Will PC players have to wait until midnight to play?
The answer is no and no.
"We do want to add a ton of features like we've just discussed: Freighters, bases, these type of things. But we want to do it for free," Murray said in a recent interview with Red Bull (via GamesRadar). "You've paid for the game, so you should get this stuff without paying even more money. So no, there will be no paid DLC, just patches."
While Hello Games won't be killing our wallets with paid DLC, they also won't make PC players wait until midnight to play the game.
"The reality is that we're still here working on it right now. There's no conspiracy, we're just racing to get all the extra options and stuff we want. PS4 comes out tomorrow and we'll just try to pretend it's a normal work day! Best guess right now is 6pm GMT on Friday, but we'll keep you up to date as we get closer," said Murray in an 'Ask Me Anything' on Reddit.
