Hello Games has released a new trailer for their extensive reworking of No Man’s Sky, simply called NEXT. The big update will release next week on July 24th on PC, PS4 and will coincide with the new Xbox One release.
The history of No Man’s Sky’s is nothing short of a miracle in the gaming scene. An advertising campaign building immense hype – with a lot of help by Sony, a disastrous game launch and a subsequent reversal of public opinion by continuous developer support and updates, led to No Man’s Sky getting a second birth of sorts.
After all, the new No Man’s Sky, players will be getting come next week, is an almost entirely different experience than what we got at launch, exactly two years ago. The three major game updates Hello Games has put out – Foundation, Path Finder and Atlas Rises – look almost small compared to the final and biggest update yet, No Man’s Sky NEXT.
The upcoming NEXT Update aims to finally deliver the long-awaited promise of multiplayer to No Man’s Sky’s infinite space-sim, among a slew of other changes and updates. The standout among those being without a doubt the option to play the game in either a first-person or third-person view, as is shown extensively in the new trailer.
Here is more info on the new update.
Multiplayer
Visual Overhaul
Unlimited Base Building
Command Freighters
A truly impressive update which easily could have become a new game on its own. So, it’s very nice that previous owners of No Man’s Sky will receive all these new additions as a free update, while Xbox One users will receive No Man’s Sky with all updates already included when the game releases for their console on July 24th for the first time.
