No robot romance in Fallout 4

A fair amount of details on Fallout 4 were revealed during QuakeCon 2015 by Bethesda's Todd Howard. It turns out that players will have the choice of a dozen different companions to accompany them throughout the game. The 12 companions weren't detailed in full, but we know that the leader of the The Commonwealth of Minutemen faction – Preston Garvey (pictured below) will be a companion, as well as a woman named Piper, Dogmeat (the dog) and Codsworth – the Mr. Handy Robot.

These companions can be more than just an ally on a journey, for the first time in Fallout players have the option of romancing their companions. Fallout games in the past have had similar features, but this is the first time that a true romance option was available.

Specific details weren't provided, but one thing is clear – romantic relationships can only be cultivated with fellow humans. That means that Codsworth won't be your love interest – you can try though. Codsworth does have quite the vocabulary with "McFly," "Boobies," and "Fart Face" — making the robot slightly irresistible.
