Noct brings 2D Lovecraftian survival horror to PC

Yet another project that found its footing via Kickstarter, Noct is a 2D top down horror survival that pulls its mythos from Lovecraft and utilizes arcade combat and RPG elements while presenting gameplay in an almost found footage format via thermal imaging satallite, which, while a probably overbloated concept in film, is an interesting departure for a horror game.

Their Kickstarter campaign describes it as such, “once our home and record of modern civilization, the Earth is a ruined wasteland engulfed in perpetual darkness. Older than any recorded texts, an ancient evil descended upon our world without warning, consuming the population and leaving despair in its wake. The unfortunate survivors of this purge now struggle to overcome the horrific terrors of the Nocturnal.”

Noct also stages you to not only battle horrific eldritch style creatures, but puts you in place to betray and reinforce alliances in its multiplayer worlds.

The game is now in Early Access and is coming across as pretty polished ahead of its expected Q1 full launch.
