Nokia is teasing an announcement through a 'save the date' invitation for the evening of July 28. The announcement is rumored to be a "major" virtual reality project. That's right, Nokia could be joining HTC, Valve, Oculus, Sony and tons of other technology developers in the VR race.
If you were concerned about virtual reality headsets being flimsy or breakable, this is the news you have been waiting for. Nokia has declined to comment on the announcement being VR centered, but there are reports that Nokia CEO Rajeev Suri was reported to have discussed “immersive imaging” during a shareholder meeting.
The best part about Nokia possibly making a VR headset is that it will probably be nearly indestructible, much like the brand's phones. If you run into a wall the damn thing will probably break your skull before it actually breaks.
What company will be diving into virtual reality next?
