Nolan North makes even Destiny’s worst lines sound not so awful

Yesterday, Bungie unleashed Destiny's massive Update 2.0. With it came plenty of changes and improvements, but the most noticable one was easily the replacement of Peter Dinklage with Nolan North as the voice of Ghost, your Guardian's AI companion.

With all the hullabaloo surrounding the casting change (and replacement of all Dinklage's original lines), we were bound to get a comparison video between the two.

While some of the lines are simply unsalvageable, it's amazing how much more life Nolan North breathes into the character. Simply put, North has more range in his delivery. He has personality in his character, with effects overlayed on top to make him sound robotic. Dinklage just delivers his lines monotonous like a robot. In any case, I'm not saying Dinklage had much to work with in terms of Destiny's script, but even the game's poorly written lines don't sound as terrible coming from North.

Perhaps some of it was guided on Bungie's part, and then changed after review feedback (after all, sombody had to approve Dinklage's uninspired delivery). Maybe it's not Dinklage's fault at all and Bungie wanted him to sound as plain as possible, you know, like a traditional AI. North's version sounds a bit more lifelike, which could be in response to critique.

Who do you prefer as the voice of Ghost?
