Nordic Games is bringing ‘The Big Four’, a lineup of unique RPGs to E3 2016

E3 is the place every developer and publisher comes to show off what they've been cooking up. Publisher, Nordic Games is bringing a lineup of RPGs that they are calling "The Big Four" to the show and they are banking on their success in 2016 and beyond. The four RPGs are Battle Chasers: Nightwar (seen in the trailer above), ELEX, SpellForce 3 and The Guild 3. Details on the games thus far have been a bit scarce, but Nordic Games intends to make a big push with these games next week.

Here are some details that Nordic has provided on each of "The Big Four".

Battle Chasers: Nightwar

An RPG inspired by the classic console greats, featuring deep dungeon diving, turn-based combat presented in a classic JRPG format, and a rich story driven by exploration of the world.
  • Classic JRPG-Style Combat in a Tech-Infused Fantasy World: Old-school combat inspired by the console RPG greats
  • Randomly Generated Dungeons with Player Driven Difficulty: Action oriented, randomly-generated dungeons loaded with traps, puzzles, and secrets
  • Craft, Barter, and Prepare for the Road Ahead: Choose three heroes, fill your travel backpack, make sure you've chosen the best equipment and abilities for each hero… and then strike out

ELEX
An upcoming open-world RPG from Piranha Bytes, creators of the Risen and Gothic series' with a universe full of interesting characters, mutant creatures, deep moral choices and thrilling action.
  • Sci-Fi meets Fantasy: A post-apocalyptic universe that is a stunning blend of sci-fi and fantasy elements.
  • Man vs Machine: You decide which path you take; there is no right or wrong way.
  • 100% Authentic: Handcrafted roleplaying experience

SpellForce 3

A blend of RPG and RTS where players command their troops, increase the level of their hero group, equip them, assign skills to them, strengthen their armed forces and capture zones to extend their territory.

  • RTS/RPG Mix: Unique gameplay combining RTS and Top-Down RPG genres
  • RTS: the RTS part focuses on macro-management (overall strategy, building a base/economy, conquering of zones, managing large groups of units)
  • RPG: the RPG part puts emphasis on micromanaging the party of heroes (skills of ALL heroes of the party have assigned keyboard bindings) in battles
  • Create & Customize: Assemble your party of heroes and choose between numerous combinations of different skill builds
  • Strengthen and Command Your Army: Prepare your troops and fight the mother of all battles. Moreover, players can utilize a wide array of strategic choices (like e.g. terrain, troop formations, visibility, scouting etc.) that would make Sun Tzu proud
  • Epic Storyline: Unravel a deep and sophisticated story, eventually leading up to the events that cause the world-changing convocation ritual
  • Rich Universe & Lore: Explore the world Eo and discover intrigues, secrets and a lot of loot for your hero
  • Extensive Single-Player Campaign: 30+ hours, even more, when you manage to discover all the things Grimlore put in the world
  • Multiplayer: Strong multiplayer component with various modes – Play cooperatively or in versus battles

The Guild 3

Players must demonstrate their skills in crafts, commerce, social occasions and finally in political intrigues as the medieval game world is constantly shifting around your own family dynasty.
  • Huge Replay-Value: AI and random global events ensure that each scenario and game look, feel and play differently.
  • Character/Dynasty Evolution: A complex tree of skills, professions, actions and bonuses waiting to be unlocked.
  • Multiplayer with up to 16 Players: Integrated Multiplayer mode that enables you to connect with other “The Guild 3” players regardless of where the game was purchased.
