Notable Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U game releases for May 2013

After an unprecedented amount of blockbuster releases earlier this year, things have tapered off a bit. That's to be expected as we're just a month away from E3, where publishers and developers tend to wait until to unveil and show off their big fall blockbuster titles. Surprisingly, though, there are actually quite a few solid-looking games releasing this month. Below are just a few noteworthy Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U games releasing for the month of May 2013.

Metro: Last Light (Xbox 360, PS3) — May 14, 2013

A sequel to Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light is set in the same post-apocalyptic future with mankind struggling to survive beneath the ruins of Moscow. In the game, you play as Artyom, a survivor who represents humanity's last hope during its darkest hours. The story-driven game — written by acclaimed author Dmitry Glukhovsky — sees the struggle of humanity against mutated creatures and even themselves.

Metro: Last Light has had a bit of a rough road. While it was initially to be published under THQ and release in the middle of 2012, a delay followed by THQ's bankruptcy led to the game being acquired by publisher Deep Silver. Now under a new banner, Metro: Last Light looks to prove it was well worth the wait.

Resident Evil Revelations (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U) — May 21, 2013

Originally released for the 3DS, Resident Evil Revelations is the link between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. The game follows Jill Valentine and her new partner Parker Luciani on their search for Chris Redfield. On 3DS, Revelations added a new feature to the game by allowing players to swim and fight enemies under water, as well as alternate aiming perspectives.

The console port will add to the features with new content including a new enemy, a harder hard mode, and an improved Raid mode with new weapons, skill sets and playable characters. A demo was released last month giving you a chance to experience Resident Evil Revelations on the consoles prior to its May 21st release.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (Xbox 360, PS3) — May 22, 2013

The fourth title in the Call of Juarez series, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger returns to the Wild West in which you play as Silas Greaves, a bounty hunter who is tasked with taking down the most notorious outlaws including Billy the Kid and Jesse James. The story is said to be a  mix of myths and historical facts.

Gunslinger sees the return of Concentration Mode, but now you are able to unleash a flurry of bullets while dodging others. For a first time in the series, though, you will now be able to acquire new abilities via a skill system.

Fuse (Xbox 360, PS3) — May 28, 2013

Fuse is a four-player cooperative action game developed by Insomniac games. Previously announced as Overstrike, the game was rebranded in August 2012.

Set in the near future, Fuse follows a team of four agents collectively known as Overstrike 9, as they go on a mission to stop the evil Raven Corporation from gaining an alien substance known as Fuse. In April we went hands-on with Fuse and admired the game's impressive arsenal of weaponry, but tomorrow you will be able to download a demo of the game to see for yourself.
