Now is your chance to pick up a FREE shiny Xerneas

A shiny version of the legendary pokemon, Xerneas, featured in Pokemon: X and Y, has just been made available for free as a mystery gift.

With any new Pokemon game, so too must come the designated legendary pokemon. With version X and Y, we were given the dark, flying type, Yveltal, and the pure fairy type, Xerneas. As of right now, a shiny Xerneas is waiting in the mystery gift box for anyone who has games X, Y, Omega Ruby, and/or Alpha Saphire.

If you've never gotten a complimentary pokemon from the mystery box, here's how to claim yours:

1) Turn on your DS system and open your current Pokemon game

2) At the menu screen with your save file, scroll down to and select "Mystery Gift"

3) You'll be taken to another menu, where you'll choose the "via internet" option

4) Once it's finished loading, you'll have your Xerneas

5) Exit the mystery gift section, go back to the menu screen, and open your save file

6) Make your way to the nearest Pokemon Center. Inside, you'll find a woman in a blue dress to the left of the counter. Speak to her and claim your Xerneas in a signature, all-red Cherish Ball. REMEMBER: You must have an available party slot to receive it, so be sure to deposit a pokemon if you have a full party or you won't be able to claim it.
