Nvidia has voluntarily recalled thousands of their popular Shield tablets due to a risk of them trying to kill you. With fire.
Because of an issue with the lithium-ion battery used in many of these tablets, units sold between July of 2014 and July of 2015 run a risk of thermal runaway or even fire, affecting 88,000 devices in North America.
Nvidia has set up a website to help you determine whether your unit is one of those covered by the recall, and if it should prove to be, they have promised to replace the current devices with a new tablet, free of charge. The recall only concerns the Shield tablets and other Nvidia products are safe. Assuming Sarah Connor did her job.
