NVIDIA today launched the GeForce GTX 680, the "fastest, most efficient" GPU ever built. As the first GPU based on its next-generation Kepler graphics architecture, the GTX 680 delivers dramatic gaming performance and exceptional levels of power efficiency.
GTX 680 has been in development for over five years, with NVIDIA inventing new technology to go hand in hand with the new graphics card.
GPU Boost technology being one of them. In the video below you can learn more about it and how it works, but, in short, it dynamically adjusts GPU speeds to maximize your computers gaming performance.
The new FXAA and TXAA antialiasing and Adaptive VSync technologies enrich visual quality without compromising gaming performance. Other advancements include support for up to four separate displays – three of them in 3D – all off of a single card, special board components that create a quiet gaming experience, and a new streaming multiprocessor block, known as SMX, that delivers twice the performance per watt of previous-generation products.
"The Kepler architecture stands as NVIDIA's greatest technical achievement to date," said Brian Kelleher, senior vice president of GPU engineering at NVIDIA. "It brings enormous performance and exceptional efficiency. Gamers will love the GTX 680's performance, as well as the fact that it doesn't require loud fans or exotic power supplies. Ultrabook users will love the GT 600M family for its performance and power efficiency."
The GeForce GTX 680 is available for about $499 from many of the world's leading card suppliers including ASUS, EVGA, GAinward, KFA2, Gigabyte, and many more.
